How to Bake Bread at Home
A lot of people get intimidated by the “apparently complicated” process of baking bread at home. Others don’t believe it’s only difficult but also impossible to make bread at home. Bread is one of the simplest snacks to fix at home. In fact, as you will come to notice at the end of this article, it’s harder to prepare beef than bread. Here are the steps involved in making bread at home.
Step # 1: Equipment
The equipment needed are:
- A large mixing bowl
- 1 spoon
- 1 measuring cup preferably 250ml
- One measuring spoon preferably teaspoon
- One bread pan
- One hand towel to cover the bread dough when rising
- Active dry yeast
- Nonstick cooking spray or corn starch
Warm the mixing bowl using warm water. Mix the yeast with warm according to the directions on its wrapper. Stir the mixture well until no lumps can be seen. The result will be tan-colored water.
Melt butter and add to the mixture. Add salt, sugar, and milk then stir up the mixture to one uniform look of tan color. Introduce flour into the mixture at the right quantities, depending on your needs.
Start stirring and adding flour accordingly to come up with a soft compact dough. Mix until it doesn’t stick to your hands or the sides of the mixing bowl.
Smear the surface where you will knead the dough on using flour. Do not put too much flour on the surface. Slap the dough on the surface prepared, preferably a table and beat it for 10 minutes. Fold it and unfold it a couple of times.
Take another bowl and coat the inside part with corn starch or nonstick cooking spray. Put the dough in the bowl. Cover it with a cloth for an hour.
After an hour put the dough back on the smeared table and roll it into your preferable shape. Put the shaped dough back into the bowl and cover for another hour.
An hour later put the loaf in the oven at 400 degrees Fahrenheit or 200 degrees Celsius for 30 minutes.
After thirty minutes, pull the bread out and remove it from the pan to allow it to cool. It should be cooked, and there you will have your homemade bread. Enjoy!
